What is a PICC Line?
PICCs or Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters are long IV catheters inserted through a peripheral vein in the arm and threaded up to the superior vena cava (SVC).
A PICC line or midline is recommended for any patient requiring IV therapy for 6 days or more.
PICC lines are used for antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, TPN, lab work, pain medications and hydrations.
